Not knowing it's genre is a strength. Is it science fiction? Maybe. It's possible that there are other planets wreaking havoc on their populations. Is it a book about the economy? Yes. Kuester's Living Wage Movement is the Occupy Wall Street movement. The misuse of cyberspace technology could wreak havoc on our financial markets. Is it a political book? Definitely. It portends the very political race between Republicans and Democrats that is taking place right now.
Is it a romance novel? Perhaps.
Some might argue that a book unclassifiable by genre is hard to sell. To the contrary, high school social studies teachers, libraries, and book club readers should go out and buy this book. It presents a perfect platform for discussion and learning.
If Kuester writes another book, I suggest: Cut down on the number of characters and focus more on character development. Finally, make the reader want to care about the romance in the novel, otherwise, skip it. There's enough here to keep us turning pages.
